Who we are
60 Decibels is a tech-powered impact measurement company that makes it easy to listen to the people who matter most. We've been in business as an independent entity since early 2019, when we spun out of the global Impact Investor Acumen.
We believe that the best way to understand social impact is by talking to the people experiencing that impact. It sounds obvious when you say it, but that is not the typical practice for many impact investors, corporations and foundations working to create social change.
We collect social impact data directly from beneficiaries (customers / employees / suppliers) using our network of 1,200+ trained Research Assistants in 100+ countries. We do it quickly and without the fuss typically associated with measuring social impact. Our researchers speak directly to customers to understand their lived experience, and our team turns all this data into benchmarked social performance reports, with accompanying insights, to help our clients demonstrate and improve social performance. In Latin America, we have completed 500+ projects across 20+ countries.
Our impact
By making impact measurement simple, scalable, and comparable, we enable organizations to improve their products and services, and we help transform what it means to credibly measure impact, ensuring that the voices of those who matter most are always part of the story. If you're similarly passionate about our mission and excited about the opportunity to help grow a dynamic business, we're looking for a Business Development Lead to own and grow our commercial work in Latin America.
Purpose of the Position
This role leads growth for 60 Decibels in Latin America. You will own the full sales cycle, from the first conversation to a signed contract, and grow our relationships with the impact investors, financial institutions, foundations, corporates and social enterprises we work with across the region. Mexico is our largest market in Latin America, so the role is based in Mexico City. You will report to our Chief Commercial Officer and work closely with our Latin America team, our LatAm Sales Associate and the global sales team. You will join with an active pipeline, and you will have dedicated onboarding support.
Key Responsibilities
Win new clients and grow existing ones. Open doors with new clients, funders and partners, drawing on the strong network of support around 60 Decibels. Convert studies with returning clients and multi-year partners into renewals, referrals and larger, longer-term engagements.
Deliver around $1M in annual sales. Own the full sales cycle, from lead generation and qualification through proposals, negotiation, contracting and closing. Maintain accurate pipeline and forecasting in the CRM, and work with our LatAm Sales Associate to keep deals moving, and set every project up for success with a clean handover to the execution team.
Build the 60 Decibels profile in Latin America, so the right organisations get to know us and come to us. Represent us at conferences, events and client meetings, online and in person, and build relationships with regional impact networks and sector enablers. Partner with MarComms on campaigns, webinars and events that turn visibility into a steady flow of inbound leads.
Convert more opportunities by meeting clients where they are. Design creative scopes and pricing that fit each client’s goals and budget, so we can say yes to more of the right work across different sectors and price points.
Sharpen where and how we sell in the region. Work with our LatAm team and Chief Commercial Officer to define the target sectors and value propositions that will drive the most growth.

Our team profile
We always see the human – in the data we collect and in our work as a team.
Our work is about people's lives. We never forget that. We are human – present, candid and compassionate – in every interaction. We listen well. We act generously to build the fabric of trust within and outside our team.
We take the work seriously, we take ourselves lightly.
We're here because this work matters, to us and to the end customers we serve. We demonstrate respect for them by working hard and being accountable to the highest standards every day. But we don't take ourselves too seriously: what fun would that be?
We get things done.
We have a bias towards action. When faced with a new challenge, we start working quickly and then learn and adjust. We get our hands dirty. This keeps us grounded in the work, leads to the best outcomes, and brings our teams together.
We value flexibility over rules, except when it comes to data and privacy.
Because we keep it human, we are flexible, especially in workplace policies. But we follow strong rules and procedures when it comes to protecting customer data and privacy.
We are here to disrupt.
We're aiming to change the status quo. That requires us to be decisive and bold, curious and keen to learn. We experiment continuously and are eager to partner on problems that are bigger than us alone.
Key interests for working with us
First and foremost, you bring passion and dedication to this work because it matters to you. You are proactive, comfortable with ambiguity and happy to work independently, and you take personal accountability seriously. When you say you're going to do something, you do it.
You have a bias towards action and you get your hands dirty. You balance flexibility and rigor, and embrace taking strategic risks and growing from mistakes. Ultimately, you are eager to do the work to build something new and (we hope) important to the world.
We also expect that most candidates will have had the described experiences and attributes. If your experience set differs, but you think you're the right person for the job, say that in your application
