Purpose of the Position
Lead the commercial, operational, and community development of El Portal Rancho Cacachilas, ensuring sustainable business growth, exceptional customer experiences, operational excellence, and strong integration with the local community.
The position is responsible for driving sales performance, overseeing daily operations, leading the team, strengthening retail and tourism services, and positioning El Portal as the primary gateway to Rancho Cacachilas and a meaningful gathering space for residents and visitors alike.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Store Management
Oversee the daily operations of El Portal, including retail, bike rentals, mechanical services, and guest experiences.
Ensure operational procedures are executed efficiently and consistently across all service areas.
Supervise the condition, functionality, and organization of the bike shop and operational facilities.
Prioritize urgent operational matters and respond quickly to unexpected situations.
Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, operational procedures, and brand guidelines.
Customer Experience & Hospitality
Ensure all guests receive outstanding customer service and personalized attention.
Welcome and assist visitors participating in tours and experiences in El Triunfo.
Provide accurate and clear information regarding products, services, rentals, and tourism experiences.
Guarantee customer satisfaction throughout the service experience, including mechanical support and rentals.
Promote a culture of hospitality, professionalism, and service excellence.
Commercial & Financial Management
Maximize sales performance and support the achievement of commercial objectives.
Monitor operational costs and expenses to support budget preparation and financial health.
Ensure sales processes and operational transactions are properly executed.
Coordinate with the Accounting Department regarding financial processes and reporting.
Support profitability and sustainable business growth through efficient operational management.
Inventory, Purchasing & Logistics
Plan and manage the purchasing of products, materials, supplies, and operational equipment.
Control and update inventories for retail products, workshop tools, furniture, and rental equipment.
Coordinate bike reservation logistics with guides and the Sales & Reservations Department.
Ensure operational readiness and availability of products and rental assets.
Team Leadership & People Management
Supervise customer service staff, mechanics, and operational team members.
Evaluate team performance and provide ongoing feedback and support.
Coordinate and promote training programs to strengthen team skills and service standards.
Foster a respectful, collaborative, and positive work environment aligned with company values.
Act as an ambassador of Innovaciones Alumbra and Rancho Cacachilas within the organization and the community.
Cross-Functional Coordination & Reporting
Maintain effective communication between operational teams and administrative departments.
Collaborate closely with Tourism, Accounting, Hospitality, and Maintenance departments.
Prepare operational reports and updates related to assigned work areas.
Maintain relationships with suppliers, local community members, tourists, and tourism operators.
Requirements and competences to work with us
Experience & Education
Bachelor’s degree completed.
Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in customer service, hospitality, tourism operations, retail management, or related fields.
Experience managing operational teams and coordinating cross-functional departments is preferred.
Background in retail operations, outdoor recreation, cycling, sporting goods, tourism, hospitality, or experiential services is highly desirable. Experience managing specialty retail stores, outdoor brands, bike shops, sporting goods stores, or adventure tourism businesses will be especially valued.
