Location and Work Mode
This is a full-time, permanent position based in Mexico City (CDMX). The role requires in-office and field presence, with a hybrid modality available for half of the week.
Who we are
Reurbano is one of Mexico City's most recognized adaptive reuse developers, with 15 years of creating vibrant, enduring urban spaces through design excellence, operational innovation, and a focus on people.
We believe activated, high-trust communities create extraordinary value — socially, civically, and financially. We also believe we're living through a transformation in how organizations operate. We're now launching a new real estate development platform to build adaptive reuse and mixed-use, mixed-income, intergenerational communities — pairing deep community investment with an AI-first data and operating model.
This role will be part of a founding team that reimagines development — from what we build, to how we build, to with whom we build.
Our impact
30+ completed projects across Mexico City (2008 to present), representing 400+ housing units and 15,000+ m² developed.
Award-winning portfolio recognized internationally: Bienal de Venecia, Bienal de Quito, FAD Prize (Spain and Portugal), XV Bienal de Arquitectura Mexicana, and ArchDaily Best Buildings 2015.
Featured in leading media including Metropolis, Monocle, Log, NYTimes, ArchDaily, El Financiero, and AD México.
∼60,000 Instagram followers and a growing community of residents, collaborators, and urban advocates — built on credibility, not ad spend.
Purpose of the Position
Cultivate high-trust communities across each project while building durable relationships in the neighborhoods where Reurbano develops. Convert interest into trust and meaningful commitment through a structured engagement journey, strengthening legitimacy and improving day-to-day environments for residents and neighbors alike.
Key Responsibilities
Run the anchor community journey: Reurbano’s model is built around intentional community formation - not selling units to strangers, but finding and cultivating a cohort of aligned people who will co-create the development. This role owns the full engagement arc: identifying and qualifying prospects, deepening their connection through events and touchpoints, and moving them from initial interest toward reservation readiness. The pathway is structured, tracked, and designed to compound over time.
Design and run events and gatherings: create repeatable formats that deepen relationships and build cohort momentum.
Own community communications cadence: manage invitations, follow-ups, updates, and touchpoints across email, WhatsApp, and CRM.
Represent Reurbano with neighbors and local stakeholders: build trust, respond to concerns, and maintain constructive neighborhood presence.
Maintain living stakeholder and context maps: track key groups, sensitivities, informal leaders, and dynamics to surface risks early.
Operate with discipline and tracking: track stages, interactions, commitments, and learnings so the work compounds over time.
Use modern tools and AI to scale quality: draft and iterate comms, structure notes, and make community insights searchable and reusable.
Requirements and competences to work with us
Education
No specific degree required. What matters most is demonstrated community-building capability.
Experience
3 to 6 years in community building, resident experience, neighborhood engagement, events management, or a related field.
Proven ability to grow real communities where trust and participation deepen over time, not just audiences or follower counts.
Experience gathering people and running events that generate real participation and group momentum - formats that actually bring people together, not just calendar entries.
Track record of managing complex interpersonal or stakeholder dynamics with maturity and clear judgment.
Comfort with digital tools and a clear orientation toward organizing, communicating, and tracking work digitally. Specific tools can be learned; what matters is the discipline and orientation to use them well.
Familiarity with Mexico City’s urban fabric, neighborhood dynamics, and local cultural codes is a strong plus.
Real estate, hospitality, coworking, membership brand, or social impact experience is relevant but not required.
Knowledge and Skills
Fully bilingual in Spanish and English, written and spoken. This is a firm requirement: Reurbano’s communities include English-speaking residents and its team operates bilingually.
Strong interpersonal judgment: handles sensitive dynamics with calm, not escalation or avoidance.
Facilitation and convening ability: runs groups with psychological safety and clear next steps.
High agency and follow-through: proactively closes loops and builds momentum without waiting for direction.
Structured communicator: clear written updates, stakeholder-sensitive tone, reliable cadence.
AI and tool fluency: comfortable using modern tools to scale quality and speed.
Our team profile
High agency + stamina: this is a demanding environment; you're comfortable with ambiguity, take ownership, and move fast.
Empowerment over hierarchy: we operate with empowered decision-making; roles change as we learn, and we optimize for outcomes, not titles.
Mission alignment: you're deeply motivated by building healthier, more connected places.
Adaptability and curiosity: you learn new tools and workflows quickly, experiment thoughtfully, and use AI to increase clarity, speed, and quality.
Low ego: you're willing to do whatever the work requires and you treat people with kindness and respect while holding a high bar.
