Purpose of the Position

Lead the design and development of secure, scalable, and high-quality enterprise applications using Java and Spring Boot on the backend and React on the frontend.

As a Principal Full-Stack Engineer, this person will provide hands-on technical leadership for an authorization layer supporting a global application and more than 70 mission-critical servicing applications, including the Point of Arrival (POA) implementation, global registration enhancements, and a high-priority compliance initiative.

Key Responsibilities

• Define technical direction and make architecture decisions related to scalability, performance, security, and resilience.

• Design and develop Java/Spring Boot backend services and React frontend applications.

• Lead the evolution of enterprise authentication and authorization solutions.

• Design distributed, multi-tiered systems and address concurrency, database locking, latency, and multi-region failover challenges.

• Lead and mentor engineers while remaining actively involved in development, automated testing, and code reviews.

• Collaborate in English with international teams across Product, Design, Architecture, Infrastructure, and Information Security.

• Promote clean architecture, code quality, CI/CD, and continuous improvement of engineering practices.

Requirements and competences to work with us

Education

• Computer Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering or related degree (preferred).

Experience

• 10+ years of professional software development experience.

• At least 7 years of hands-on backend development using Java.

• At least 3 years of professional and hands-on frontend development using React.

• Proven experience leading and mentoring engineers, defining technical direction, and driving execution across multiple initiatives.

• Strong background in application design, automated testing, algorithms, relational databases, and distributed systems.

• Experience supporting enterprise-scale, business-critical applications in production environments.

• Experience implementing authentication and authorization solutions using standards such as OAuth2, OpenID Connect, or SAML.

Knowledge and Skills

• Advanced Java, Spring Boot, microservices, and clean architecture.

• Professional experience developing frontend applications with React.

• Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, Java concurrency, concurrent collections, and lambda expressions.

• Solid knowledge of Spring Boot fundamentals, transaction management, embedded server configuration, and internationalization.

• Strong SQL skills, including relational database design, normalization, transactions, locking, and concurrent updates.

• Experience designing distributed cloud services, ideally using GCP/GKE, including multi-region deployment, failover, resilience, and latency optimization.

• Experience with REST APIs; exposure to SOAP, gRPC, Db2, PostgreSQL, Kafka, Spark, Ab Initio, or Vertex is valuable.

• Familiarity with cloud platforms, database migrations, DevOps practices, and CI/CD pipelines.

• FinTech, banking, payments, or financial services experience is highly desirable.

• Advanced English, C1.
