Key interests for working with us
WRAP’s work in Brazil directly addresses the lack of food waste data in the country, by launching and managing the country’s first national voluntary agreement to tackle food loss and waste across the supply chain. The Pact is aligned with SDG 12.3 and commits to: 1) Halving per capita food waste at retail and consumer levels by 2030; 2) Reducing losses across production, storage, processing, and distribution; 3) Expanding food recovery and redistribution to vulnerable communities, and 4) Building a national evidence base through standardised measurement.
The ambition of the Pact is to become a cornerstone of national strategy for reducing food loss and waste, supported by the actions of its partners and signatories, by focusing on 7 priorities: 1) Generating robust data and evidence; 2) Preventing waste along the supply chain; 3) Raising consumer awareness; 4) Expanding food redistribution and donation; 5) Driving innovation and technology with scale; 6) Strengthening governance and cross-sector collaboration, and; 7) Mobilising and engaging key actors across society.
