Key interests for working with us
WRAP’s work in Mexico addresses the dual challenge of food waste and food insecurity. Through Pacto Por La Comida and its partners, WRAP looks to catalyse the transition towards a sustainable, inclusive, and efficient food system in the country, where food is valued and waste is minimised. The Pact aligns with SDG 12.3, committing signatories to: 1) Halve per capita food loss and food waste levels by 2030; 2) Reduce losses throughout production, storage, processing, and distribution; 3) Measure and report FLW annually using standardised methodologies; 4) Increase food recovery and redistribution to vulnerable communities. By 2030, the Pact aims to grow its signatories across all major sectors of the food value chain.
The Pact works through four strategic pillars: 1) Voluntary agreements with private sector actors; 2) Technical assistance and measurement via environmental consultancy; 3) Education, and; 4) Consumer behaviour change campaigns.
