Who we are
Coral Guardian is a French non-profit organization founded in 2012 to protect and restore coral reef ecosystems around the world by involving local communities for their own benefit. Our action is structured around three main pillars:
• Participatory marine conservation – enabling locally managed and sustainable reef protection models.
• Awareness & education – building global understanding of coral reefs’ importance and the threats they face
• Science & research – supporting conservation efforts with data and research aligned with local needs.

Purpose of the Position
The Partnerships Manager will be responsible for designing, leading, and executing the organization’s fundraising and development strategy. This key role aims to strengthen Coral Guardian’s financial sustainability, diversify partnerships, expand community fundraising tools, and structure engagement with corporate sponsors, foundations, and major donors.
Key Responsibilities
Fundraising Strategy & Partnerships (50%)
- Develop and implement a comprehensive development strategy.
- Prospect, negotiate, and retain corporate partnerships.
- Manage and grow relationships with foundations, patrons, and major donors.
- Contribute to grant applications and prepare funding proposals.
- Develop decision-making tools to support fundraising efforts.
- Monitor and evaluate development performance metrics.
Individual Giving & Community Fundraising (25%)
- Design and manage individual giving campaigns (crowdfunding, appeals, special initiatives).
- Lead the coral adoption program and develop related offerings.
- Engage and nurture the community of individual donors.
- Track donations, issue tax receipts, and provide personalized acknowledgments.
Partner Relations & Communications (15%)
- Coordinate communications with partners (impact reports, newsletters, partnership visibility).
- Create tailored pitch materials and presentations.
- Represent the organization at events (conferences, fairs, forums).
Administration & Reporting (10%)
- Manage the development-related budget.
- Maintain partner and donor databases.
- Prepare funder reports and activity summaries.
- Track KPIs and provide regular reporting to leadership.
Requirements and competencies to work with us
Education
- Master’s degree (or equivalent) in non-profit development, project management, CSR/corporate relations, social and solidarity economy, or another relevant field.
Experience
- 3–5 years in partnership development, fundraising, or philanthropy
- Strong understanding of the non-profit sector, foundations, and philanthropy mechanisms
- Environmental or social-impact experience is a strong advantage
Knowledge and Skills
- Excellent written and analytical communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills, diplomacy, and confidence in relationship building.
- Highly organized, autonomous, and reliable.
- Proficient in office tools and CRM platforms (e.g., AssoConnect, Salesforce).
- Strong command of French and English (written and spoken).
- Commitment to environmental and community-centered values.
