Purpose of the Position
The Head of Marketing and Communications will lead the strategy and execution of all marketing and communications efforts. This role is vital for strengthening the organization's visibility, ensuring strategic communications to various audiences, and driving engagement through multi-channel platforms. The Head of Marketing and Communications will be a key player in amplifying the organization's mission through impactful content and strategic partnerships.
Key Responsibilities
• Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement an integrated marketing and communications strategy aligned with the organization’s mission and goals.
• Content Management: Oversee content creation for all platforms (website, newsletters, social media, etc.) to ensure consistent and impactful messaging.
• Team Management: Lead a diverse team of marketers and communication professionals, ensuring cohesion and high performance.
• Partnerships and Events: Manage partnerships with media outlets and ensure successful communication strategies for flagship events.
• Data-driven decision-making: Utilize data and analytics to optimize communication strategies, member engagement, and visibility.
• Collaboration Across Teams: Work closely with the Membership, Knowledge, and Policy teams to ensure alignment and consistency in communication efforts.
Key Performance Indicators:
- Content Engagement: Growth in website traffic, social media engagement, and content interaction.
- Membership Growth & Retention: Increase in member acquisition and retention through targeted communications.
- Media Presence: Number of media mentions and effectiveness of PR campaigns in high-profile outlets.
- Event Success: Attendance growth and media coverage for key events like Impact Week.
- Brand Awareness: Improvement in brand recognition and consistency across all platforms.
- Strategic Partnerships: Development and success of key partnerships to amplify the organization's message.
- Budget Efficiency: Effective use of the marketing budget with measurable ROI.
- Team Leadership: Employee satisfaction and team development within the marketing and communications unit.
Requirements and competencies to work with us
Education
• Master's Degree in Marketing, Communications, or related fields.
• Fluent English level (C1)
• Additional language would be a plus.
Experience
• 10+ years of experience in marketing and communications, with demonstrated expertise in developing and executing strategic communication plans. Previous experience in a community-based organization is desirable.
• Ability to demonstrate a passion for accelerating impact/ positive change and ecosystem building
• Used to work in a matrix environment, collaborative in nature
Knowledge and Skills
• Proficient in digital marketing tools (Mailchimp, WordPress, social media platforms).
• Strong analytical skills, with experience in data-driven decision-making.
• Proven ability to manage media relations and partnerships with high-profile outlets.
• A deep understanding of the Impact Ecosystem in Europe, including knowledge of key players, trends, and challenges.
